Wow, the whole first half of this year has been a whirlwind! I am so happy with all that I have been able to accomplish thus far, and I look forward to what is next. But with my husband’s and my birthday month right around the corner (we are both July babies), and the annual fitness convention happening in July, I plan on slowing things down for the summer while everything for the book is being worked on by the graphic designer. Here is a sneak peak of the first draft. Between running the studio and doing everything to publish my new cookbook, Sweets in the Raw: Naturally Healthy Desserts, I have had a hard time just spending good, old-fashioned, quality time with my hubbie. And I don’t say that in a negative way, I say that because I do believe you can have the best of both worlds. I believe it is possible to have a great career and home life, but I feel like this only happens if you take the time to reflect about it. During the last six months my husband has gone above and beyond by helping me conquer my fear of public speaking. On our one day off together each week he became the photographer’s assistant just so he could spend extra time with me. He even started doing some of the household chores that he hates—all to support me. He just picked up where I left off when I needed to spend more time at work.Out of respect I feel like it is now time for me to return the favor. I plan on making time to make homemade meals at night again, and actually enjoying one full day off a week with him. In the meantime, I promise to start sharing some recipes with you all so that you can start making these desserts for yourself and your friends.
